Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the annual fee for 2026/27?
The fee is currently set at £360.
2. How is the annual fee calculated?
Members fees are the primary source of income for the Gardens, which require significant upkeep across infrastructural, routine maintenance, and woodland-related projects. It is assessed each year in line with the accounts and long-term financial plan, with a decision made in advance of the key change each year. Any change to the annual fee is explained in full to the keyholders.
3. How long is my membership valid for?
Membership is valid from the point at which a Keyholder receives their key to the next key change, normally in May each year. At this point, the locks on the gates are changed and membership for the forthcoming year must be paid to receive a new key.
4. Can I bring guests into the Gardens?
Guests are welcome in small groups. If keyholders are planning on hosting a larger party then the Committee must be informed in advance so that other keyholders can be informed if required.
5. Can I bring my dog into the Gardens?
Dogs are welcome in the Gardens subject to being registered with the Committee and payment of an additional £8 fee to cover basic expenses.
6. Can my guest bring their dog into the Gardens?

7. Can I host events in the Gardens?
Keyholders are able to request use of the gazebo for £200, subject to availability.
8. What do I do if I lose my key?
Inform the Committee as soon as possible. Replacement keys may be purchased at £50 per key.
9. Can I keep my key if I move away from a qualifying address?
If you plan to move away from a qualifying address, you must return your key to the Committee. Keys must not be handed from one resident to the next.
10. How are the Gardens managed?
The Gardens are managed by the volunteer Committee on behalf of the Trustees for the benefit of all keyholders. The Committee is elected every three years at the triennial meeting, and meet once a quarter to ensure that the Gardens remain an inclusive, orderly and enjoyable space for members.
10. Can I volunteer for the Committee?
